Rangers produced a dominant display against Celtic to secure a 3-0 victory in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final at Ibrox Stadium on Sunday, with Nigeria international Emmanuel Fernandez featuring in the win.

Dan Neil put Rangers ahead midway through the first half before Venezuela striker Kevin Kelsy extended the hosts’ advantage in the 59th minute.

Neil, who joined Rangers from Sunderland in the summer, completed the scoring with 15 minutes remaining. The midfielder found the net with an impressive finish from the edge of the box to confirm Rangers’ place in the last four.

The result sends Rangers into the Scottish League Cup semi-finals alongside Hearts, Hibernian and Aberdeen, who had already secured their places in the next round.

The semi-final draw is scheduled to take place later on Sunday, 13 September 2026.

Rangers are the record winners of the Scottish League Cup, having lifted the trophy 28 times. They will now continue their pursuit of a 29th title after overcoming their city rivals in a one-sided quarter-final at Ibrox Stadium.

St Mirren are the current holders of the competition. They won their second Scottish League Cup title by beating Celtic 3-1 at Hampden Park on 14 December 2025.
