Newcastle United will give Matthias Jaissle time despite difficult start
Newcastle United have no plans to sack head coach Matthias Jaissle despite their disappointing start to the season, according to TEAMtalk.
The club’s hierarchy is prepared to give the 38-year-old time to rebuild the squad and introduce his approach, rather than make an immediate change in the dugout.
Newcastle have collected eight points from their opening seven Premier League matches and sit 11th in the table. They were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa last weekend, following a heavy 4-1 defeat by Coventry.
Some Newcastle supporters have already called for Jaissle to be dismissed after the poor run of results. However, the club’s leadership anticipated difficulties after the summer departures of Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes.
As a result, Newcastle are not expected to rush into a decision over the manager’s future and remain willing to allow Jaissle time to reshape the team.
