Ndidi and Chukwueze complete Nigeria camp ahead of AFCON qualifiers

Wilfred Ndidi and Samuel Chukwueze have joined the Super Eagles squad ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

Their arrival takes the number of players in camp to 23, with the full group involved in Nigeria’s first training session before the matchday one fixture against Madagascar.

Nigeria have never lost to Madagascar in an African Cup of Nations qualifier and have not conceded a goal against them in the competition.

The Super Eagles have won three and drawn one of their previous four meetings with Madagascar, scoring five times without conceding.

Madagascar did, however, beat the three-time African champions 2-0 in their final group-stage match at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt. Both sides still progressed to the knockout stage of that tournament.

Ndidi and Chukwueze are the latest players to report to camp, following the arrival of goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
