Morocco retained the Futsal Africa Cup of Nations title with a 5-2 victory over Angola in the 2026 final in Rabat, securing the trophy for a record fourth consecutive time.

The result means Morocco have followed up their triumphs in 2016, 2020 and 2024 by extending their dominance of the competition. They are now the only national team to have won the tournament four times in succession.

Angola held Morocco at bay for the opening 15 minutes, but Othmane El Idrissi eventually broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. The GOAL FC winger, operating on the right, found a narrow gap through the Angolan goalkeeper with a powerful effort.

His goal brought the Palais des Sports at the Complexe Prince Moulay Abdellah to life. Mohamed Ouahbi, the coach of the Morocco national football team, was watching from the stands.

Angola responded almost immediately, equalising a minute later in the 18th minute. It was the first goal Morocco had conceded in the tournament.

The African champions restored their lead in the 19th minute through Youssef Jaouad. The Union Touarga playmaker created space against his marker before beating the goalkeeper with a long-range diagonal shot.

Morocco went into half-time 2-1 ahead, and Hicham Dguig’s side increased their advantage soon after the restart.

Idriss Raiss El-Fenni scored from distance in the 21st minute to establish a two-goal cushion. Ismail Amazal then struck in the 33rd minute, before Bilal Bakkali added a fifth two minutes later to put the outcome beyond doubt.

Angola scored again in the 37th minute, but the goal only reduced the margin as Morocco completed another successful title defence.

The latest victory also places Morocco ahead of Egypt in the competition’s record books. Egypt won the first three editions, in 1996, 2000 and 2004, but Morocco have now become the first side to claim four consecutive Africa Cup of Nations futsal titles.
