Mbappe steps up Real Madrid return from knee injury

Kylian Mbappe has resumed training with Real Madrid as he continues his recovery from a knee injury ahead of their La Liga meeting with Villarreal.

The France forward joined his team-mates at the club’s training base on Tuesday, according to AS, after returning to Madrid on Monday morning.

Mbappe worked away from the squad under the supervision of the coaching staff on the day of his return. At the following session, he was able to take part in training alongside the rest of the Real Madrid players.

The 10 October fixture against Villarreal will be played at home by Real Madrid.

Mbappe has made seven La Liga appearances this season, scoring seven goals and providing two assists.
