Manchester City set firm Erling Haaland asking price despite relegation possibility
Manchester City will demand a substantial transfer fee for Erling Haaland even if the club is relegated from the Premier League to the Championship.
According to Football Insider, the club will not consider offers for the striker at a reduced price, despite its belief that it would be impossible for Haaland to play in England’s second tier.
Several leading European clubs are reportedly prepared to take advantage of the situation. However, Haaland’s contract with Manchester City does not contain a clause allowing him to leave if the club is relegated.
The same applies to the club’s other key players, meaning Manchester City has no intention of selling Haaland or any of its other leading players cheaply.
Haaland, 26, is contracted to Manchester City until 2034.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern are among five clubs named as potential destinations for the Norway international.
