Lucas Bergvall could leave Tottenham in January after falling down the club’s midfield pecking order following the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.

The Sweden international is understood to want more regular first-team football and may consider a move during the winter transfer window if his situation does not improve, according to TuttoJuve.

Juventus are looking to strengthen their midfield, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg currently their main target. Bergvall is also on the Italian club’s shortlist and is being closely monitored.

Any move for the 18-year-old could depend on whether Tottenham are prepared to approve a loan deal. Juventus may seek an agreement similar to the arrangement that allowed Pape Sarr to leave Spurs.

Tottenham and Juventus already have an established working relationship, having completed deals involving Sarr and Guglielmo Vicario during the summer.

Bergvall’s potential departure would therefore depend on both his prospects of securing more playing time in north London and Tottenham’s willingness to sanction a temporary move.
