Iraola praises Liverpool performance despite 3-0 Manchester City defeat

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said he was pleased with aspects of his side’s display despite their 3-0 defeat by Manchester City at Anfield in the sixth round of the Premier League.

Iraola said the match changed significantly after Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was sent off in the 62nd minute.

“There were two different periods in the game – one before the sending-off and another afterwards,” the Liverpool manager said.

The dismissal left Liverpool facing the final stages with 10 men as Manchester City secured a convincing victory.

Despite the result, Iraola added: “I liked Liverpool’s performance.”

Liverpool have now taken ninth place in the Premier League table after six rounds of matches.
