Huijsen leaves Ballon d’Or debate between Yamal and Mbappe unresolved

Dean Huijsen has declined to name his choice for the Ballon d’Or, with Spain and Real Madrid team-mates Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappe among the leading contenders.

The 21-year-old central defender plays alongside Yamal for Spain and with Mbappe at Real Madrid, but would not choose between the two players when asked who should receive the award.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place in London on 26 October.

Exactly one month before the presentation, Spain will face England at Wembley in the Nations League.
