Rangers striker Godwin Obaje marked his 100th Nigeria Premier Football League goal by scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory away to Warri Wolves on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old converted a penalty in the 11th minute in Ozoro, Delta State, securing all three points for Rangers and reaching the landmark in the process.

Rangers celebrated the achievement on X, describing the forward’s decisive spot-kick as a historic moment for the club and Nigerian football.

“100 NPFL GOALS FOR GODWIN OBAJE! ???

“History made in Delta State. Godwin Obaje’s winning penalty marks his 100th goal in the Nigerian Premier Football League!

“A legendary milestone for a top marksman ?,” the club posted.

Obaje began his professional career with Wikki Tourists in 2014. He later played for the now-defunct Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Plateau United and Abia Warriors.

His most prolific domestic campaign came in the 2016 season, when he finished as the NPFL’s leading scorer with 18 goals.

The striker has also played outside Nigeria, gaining experience with clubs in Slovakia, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Oman during his career.

His latest goal adds to a record that places him among the most productive forwards in NPFL history and helped Rangers claim victory on their trip to Warri Wolves.
