Gift Orban closing in on permanent Amedspor transfer after seven-goal start

Gift Orban is three goals away from securing a permanent move to Turkish Super Lig newcomers Amedspor after a prolific start to his loan spell.

The Nigeria international joined Besnik Hasi’s team from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim in July and has quickly established himself as one of the division’s leading scorers.

Orban has scored seven goals and supplied two assists in six league appearances, form which has put him level with Trabzonspor forward Mohamed Salah at the top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring charts.

Amedspor president Nahit Eren has confirmed that the 24-year-old’s loan agreement includes a mandatory purchase clause that will be activated if he reaches 10 goals.

“We loaned Gift Orban for €500,000, not €1 million,” Eren was quoted as saying by GZT.

“If he scores 10 goals, the mandatory purchase option will be activated.”

That leaves Orban needing only three more league goals to complete the conditions for a permanent transfer to Amedspor.

The striker has made an immediate impact since arriving at the club and will now aim to maintain his scoring rate as Amedspor look to build on their strong start to life in the Turkish top flight.

His latest contribution came in a 3-2 victory over Besiktas, when his goal and assist helped Amedspor move to the top of the league.
