Gambia begin 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying with Somalia return

The Gambia host Somalia on Friday, 25 September, in the opening match of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

The fixture also marks the return of the Scorpions to their home fortress, which had been closed for several years while renovation work was carried out.

Gambian viewers can watch the match on the national television channel GRTS.

A victory would provide an early boost to the Gambia’s stated ambition under McKinstry of reaching the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted in 2027 by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
