Enyimba sign Nigeria midfielder Garando Tekena after spell without a club
Nigeria midfielder Garando Tekena has joined Enyimba Aba, strengthening the NPFL club’s options in central midfield ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The move was completed on 16 September, with Tekena arriving after leaving Rangers in July 2025. He had been without a club before making the switch to Enyimba.
Tekena, who prefers his left foot, has recorded 48 NPFL appearances, scoring six goals and providing one assist. He has also played three matches in the CAF Champions League, giving him experience in both domestic competition and continental football.
The 26-year-old’s most recent club before Enyimba was Rangers, whom he joined from Bayelsa in July 2024. He had previously represented Abia Warriors before moving to Bayelsa during the 2022-23 season.
His arrival gives Enyimba a midfielder with experience of Nigeria’s top flight and the CAF Champions League. Tekena’s NPFL record includes 3,171 minutes on the pitch, while he played 185 minutes in continental competition.
Enyimba have now completed the signing of Garando Tekena from a spell without a club.
