Enyimba goalkeeper Godswill Etum sidelined for two weeks
Enyimba goalkeeper Godswill Etum will miss the next two weeks after suffering an injury during training, according to Completesports.com.
The goalkeeper was hurt during Friday morning’s session after colliding with an attacker while attempting to make a save.
Enyimba technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch confirmed Etum’s condition when speaking to the media.
“Yes, our first-choice goalkeeper, Etum, is out injured. He sustained the injury this morning in training, and the doctor says he will be out for two weeks,” Deutsch said.
“He had contact with an attacker. The attacker wanted to score, while he tried to save the effort.”
Etum joined Enyimba from Wikki Tourists at the start of the season. Enyimba are nine-time NPFL champions but remain without a victory after their opening two matches of the current campaign.
The People’s Elephant are due to host Inter Lagos at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Sunday.
