Elye Wahi rescu es a point for Nice as Le Mans remain winless in Ligue 1

Elye Wahi’s equaliser earned Nice a 1-1 draw against Le Mans on Saturday, with both sides still searching for their first victory of the 2026-27 French Ligue 1 campaign.

Le Mans made the stronger start at Nice’s home ground and took the lead after 13 minutes. Adil Bourab sent the ball into the net to put the visitors in front.

Nice responded by increasing the pressure in attack as the first half progressed. Their efforts were rewarded shortly before the interval, when Wahi converted Sofiane Diop’s assist to restore parity.

There was no further scoring after the break. The pace of the match failed to produce another goal, and the final whistle confirmed a 1-1 draw.

The result leaves Nice and Le Mans both on two points after three rounds of the French championship. Neither side has won a league match so far in the 2026-27 season.

Nice had to recover from an early setback after Bourab gave Le Mans the advantage in the opening stages. The home side eventually found a response before half-time, with the combination of Diop and Wahi bringing them back into the contest.

Le Mans were unable to reclaim the lead in the second half, while Nice could not complete a comeback in front of their home supporters. With the teams level at the interval and no further goals in the closing 45 minutes, the points were shared.

The draw means both clubs remain separated from their first league win of the campaign. Each has collected two points from the opening three fixtures, leaving the sides with identical records at this stage of the competition.

For Nice, Wahi’s goal ensured they avoided defeat after falling behind early. For Le Mans, Bourab’s strike was enough to secure a point away from home, although the visitors were unable to hold on to their advantage after taking the lead.

Saturday’s result therefore maintained the same league position in terms of points for both teams: two each, with neither yet having recorded a victory in French Ligue 1.
