Samuel Chukwueze could be handed a fresh opportunity to revive his AC Milan career after the club's new head coach confirmed the Nigerian winger will remain part of his plans for the upcoming season, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Speculation had linked Chukwueze with a possible departure this summer following an inconsistent spell at the San Siro, but the Milan boss has now dismissed the possibility of a loan move, insisting the Super Eagles star remains an important option in his squad.

Speaking during a press conference, the coach highlighted Chukwueze's ability in one-on-one situations and explained why the Nigerian will be retained.

"There are some players who weren't here last year. Chukwueze is staying with us; we need players who can play one-on-one. Saelemaekers can play on either the left or right side; he prefers to play one-on-one."

"Then after the preseason we'll decide, but always with an eye on the budget. The owner is here… [he laughs] We'll evaluate the young players; Chukwueze has great qualities and gives us alternatives."

The manager also revealed how he intends to deploy the 26-year-old, suggesting the former Villarreal winger could play a more central attacking role rather than being restricted to the touchline.

"I have clear ideas about how I want to see him play. With his right foot on the left side, but also on the other side. Although I want him between the lines, not with his feet on the line. He's well-liked at the club, and the whole team is behind him to make the most of him."

The comments represent a significant boost for Chukwueze, who has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter since arriving from Villarreal. With a new coaching setup in place, the Nigerian international now appears set for another opportunity to prove his worth as AC Milan prepare for the new campaign.
