CAF Confederation Cup: AFAD, Tusker and Kitara FC advance to second round
The CAF Confederation Cup delivered a series of decisive results on Saturday, 12 September 2026, as the preliminary-round second legs were played across the continent.
AFAD secured their progress after drawing 2-2 away to East End Lions. The Ivorian side had drawn 1-1 in the first leg and continued their campaign after another entertaining encounter.
Tusker also booked their place in the next round with a narrow 1-0 victory over Al Ahli Wad Madani.
Kitara FC produced a convincing result, defeating Mogadishu City 2-0. Jimmy Kalema and Tumwesige Frank Zaga were among the scorers as Kitara completed a 4-1 aggregate success.
Rayon Sports advanced after being held to a goalless draw by Panthere Sportive. The Rwandan club had drawn 1-1 in the opening match of the tie.
Black Bulls and Atomic Ngome also finished 0-0 in their second leg. The Mozambican club nevertheless retained the advantage secured in the first meeting.
