Nigerian superstar Burna Boy performed at the 2026 NFL Paris halftime show during Sunday’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints, entertaining spectators at the Stade de France.

The Grammy-winning Afrofusion singer performed several of his best-known songs, including Ye, On the Low and Last Last, in an energetic set at the iconic Paris venue.

Burna Boy combined Afrobeat, reggae, dancehall and other influences during the performance, adding to the occasion and reflecting the growing international reach of African music.

Before taking to the stage, the singer said he was hopeful the atmosphere would match the reception he received during his previous concert at the stadium.

“If it is anything like my shows, like the last time I was here? Then, it would be amazing,” he said.

Burna Boy’s growing sporting-event profile

The appearance added to Burna Boy’s increasing involvement in major international sporting events.

In 2023, he performed at the NBA All-Star Game and the UEFA Champions League final kickoff show, reaching audiences through two different global sports platforms.

He also performed alongside Colombian superstar Shakira at the inaugural FIFA World Cup halftime show in 2026.

Burna Boy’s NFL appearance came only weeks after fellow Nigerian singer Ayra Starr became the first artiste to headline an NFL halftime show. The two performances have highlighted the growing presence of Nigerian musicians at major international events.

From Like to Party to global recognition

Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy began to gain prominence with Like to Party, the lead single from his debut studio album, L.I.F.E, which was released in 2013.

He has since become one of Africa’s most successful musical exports, developing a worldwide following through his Afrofusion style and a series of acclaimed albums.

His discography includes L.I.F.E (2013), On a Spaceship (2015), Outside (2018), African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), I Told Them (2023) and No Sign of Weakness (2025).

Burna Boy has received 13 Grammy nominations, the most by a Nigerian artiste, and won the Best Global Music Album award in 2021 for Twice As Tall.

His latest performance underlined his international reach while providing another prominent platform for Nigerian music. As Afrobeats and Afrofusion continue to attract audiences worldwide, Burna Boy’s appearance placed Nigerian musical talent at the centre of one of sport’s biggest entertainment occasions.
