Bayern Munich rule out move for Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has ruled out a move for Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz at present, despite the German club having tracked the player for several years. Goal reported Hainer’s comments.

Asked whether Bayern Munich were still monitoring Wirtz’s situation at Liverpool, Hainer responded that a return to the Bundesliga champions was not currently under consideration.

Wirtz joined Liverpool from Bayer in June 2025 for £100m. Bayern Munich had previously been among the clubs interested in signing the Germany international and had followed his progress over an extended period.

The midfielder has made eight appearances so far this season and has provided two assists.
