Bayern Munich are actively exploring the possibility of selling right-back Sacha Boey to a club in Saudi Arabia, according to a report by journalist Christian Falk.

Although the summer transfer window has closed in Europe’s leading leagues, the market remains open in several other countries. Saudi Arabia is among the leagues where clubs can still complete signings, giving Bayern an opportunity to negotiate a late departure for Boey.

Falk told CFBayern Insider that Bayern are currently in discussions with clubs from Saudi Arabia about a potential deal for the French defender. The negotiations could determine whether Boey leaves the German champions despite the closure of the main European transfer window.

Boey’s contract with Bayern runs until 2028. However, the right-back is reportedly open to the possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia, meaning a transfer remains possible if an agreement can be reached before the deadline there.

Interest in Boey’s future comes after Bayern journalist Christoph Freund recently suggested that the player was unlikely to leave the club. Freund said Bayern would instead attempt to bring Boey back into their squad if he did not secure a move elsewhere.

That position could change if talks with Saudi Arabian clubs lead to an agreement. Bayern are now understood to be working to find a buyer, with the remaining availability of the Saudi Arabian transfer market providing the club with additional time.

The outcome is expected to become clear today, when it will be known whether Bayern have been able to complete the proposed transfer. If no deal is finalised, the club will have to consider Boey’s return to the squad, in line with Freund’s earlier comments.

For now, the defender remains under contract at Bayern until 2028, but his willingness to relocate means his future is still unresolved. The club’s discussions with Saudi Arabian sides represent the latest development in an uncertain situation that appeared less likely to result in a departure after the main European window closed.
