Barcelona reject talks over Fermin Lopez as PSG interest grows

Paris St-Germain manager Luis Enrique wants to sign Barcelona attacking midfielder Fermin Lopez, but the Catalan club have made clear they are not prepared to negotiate for the player.

Luis Enrique believes Lopez fits the profile he demands from midfielders. The former Barcelona boss places particular value on players who operate with intensity and regularly arrive in goalscoring positions.

Lopez is viewed as a strong match for those requirements because of his ability to exploit space, press opponents, make forward runs from deep and contribute significant numbers of goals and assists.

PSG have the financial strength to make a substantial offer for Lopez. However, Barcelona’s current position is firm: Fermin is not for sale.

According to El Nacional, even a bid of 100 million euros would not persuade Barcelona to open discussions over a transfer.
