Atletico Madrid reject January move for Arsenal target Alex Baena, says report

Atletico Madrid do not intend to sell winger Alex Baena during the January transfer window, despite strong interest from Arsenal, according to Football Insider.

The 25-year-old Spain international is being monitored by the London club, but Atletico Madrid are reportedly unwilling to let him leave this winter. Arsenal’s only option would be to make an offer the Spanish club could not refuse.

A move could instead be considered next summer, with Arsenal potentially returning for Baena at the end of the season.

Baena has played 13 matches in all competitions this campaign, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

Transfermarkt values the winger at 45m euros.
