Arsenal intensify interest in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ibrahim Maza

Arsenal have increased their interest in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ibrahim Maza as they consider a potential move for the highly rated 20-year-old.

TeamTalk, via Yahoo Sports, reports that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their pursuit of the Algeria international. Chelsea, Manchester City and Aston Villa are also monitoring Maza’s progress.

Arsenal and Spurs have both watched the midfielder during the current season as they assess whether to make a formal approach.

Maza has emerged as one of the Bundesliga’s most promising young attacking midfielders, having impressed with his technical ability, versatility and intelligence when in possession.

The Bayer Leverkusen player is particularly accomplished when operating in the half-spaces, where he can receive the ball, turn and drive at opposing defenders.
