Arda Guler remains on Chelsea radar after Morgan Rogers deal

Chelsea are still interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler, with head coach Xabi Alonso keen to bring the Turkey international to Stamford Bridge, according to TEAMtalk.

The London club’s interest in the 21-year-old remains despite their decision to sign Morgan Rogers during the summer transfer window. Alonso reportedly wanted Chelsea to pursue Guler before the move for the England midfielder was completed.

Guler has made six appearances in the Spanish league this season, scoring once and providing three assists.

The report also says Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has not offered Guler any assurances over his playing time. The Portuguese coach is understood to regard all members of his squad equally when deciding who features.

Chelsea’s continued interest suggests Guler remains a potential target despite the club’s summer investment in midfield.
