Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler has agreed terms on a new contract with the LaLiga club after discussions with manager Jose Mourinho, according to reports.

The 21-year-old Turkey international is understood to be satisfied with his role and future at the club after speaking with Mourinho during the international break.

Mourinho has shown confidence in Guler this season, selecting him in the starting line-up for six of Real Madrid’s eight top-flight matches so far.

Guler’s current agreement runs until 2029, but it is set to be improved and extended until 2031. Details of the proposed deal have not yet been confirmed.

The reported decision is expected to end interest from Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester City, who had been monitoring Guler as a potential future target.

According to TEAMtalk, Guler is now ready to commit his future to Real Madrid after receiving assurances over his position in Mourinho’s plans.
