Al-Qadsiah close in on move for Nigeria Under-20 winger Sani Suleiman

Al-Qadsiah are nearing an agreement to sign Nigerian winger Sani Suleiman from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in a deal worth between €9m and €10m, including bonuses.

Transfer expert Rudi Galetti reports that the Saudi Pro League side have reached a full agreement with Leipzig over the transfer of the 19-year-old.

Personal terms have not yet been finalised, with discussions between Al-Qadsiah and Suleiman still continuing. However, there is increasing confidence that the remaining details will be settled soon.

Suleiman had also attracted strong interest from English Championship club West Ham United. Al-Qadsiah, though, acted quickly to move negotiations forward with Leipzig and are now in pole position to complete the transfer.

The proposed move would come only months after Suleiman joined Leipzig from Slovakian club AS Trencin. He made a strong impression during his time with Trencin before securing a move to the Bundesliga side in January.

During his spell with the Slovakian club, Suleiman scored five goals and supplied five assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

His progress at Leipzig has been less straightforward. The winger has found it difficult to establish himself in the first team and has not made a competitive appearance for the Bundesliga club. Injuries have also disrupted his development since his arrival.

Despite those setbacks, Suleiman remains highly regarded and could now have the opportunity to rebuild his momentum in the Saudi Pro League. A transfer to Al-Qadsiah would give him the prospect of more regular first-team football and allow him to continue his development at senior level.

Suleiman has also represented Nigeria on the international stage. He was included in the Flying Eagles squad for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, adding international experience to his developing career.

Al-Qadsiah’s pursuit of the winger follows Leipzig’s decision to bring him to Germany after his promising performances for Trencin. The Saudi club’s agreement with Leipzig means the principal transfer negotiations have been completed, although the final agreement with the player remains outstanding.

If personal terms are concluded as expected, Suleiman will leave Leipzig without making a competitive appearance for the Bundesliga club and begin the next stage of his career in Saudi Arabia.

The deal would also represent a significant investment in a player who is still only 19 and whose previous record includes 10 goal contributions in 50 matches for Trencin.

For Suleiman, the proposed move could provide the regular playing time that has been difficult to secure in Germany, while Al-Qadsiah would add a young Nigerian winger who has already attracted attention in European football and at youth international level.
