Al Ahly Tripoli will look to complete the job against Welwalo Adigrat when the sides meet in the second preliminary-round second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday, 24 October 2026.

The Libyan club take a 4-0 advantage into the match at Tripoli International Stadium after a dominant first-leg victory in Ethiopia. Goals from Al-Lafi, Togai, Al-Suwaidi and Al-Mirimi gave Al Ahly Tripoli a commanding lead and put them within reach of securing a place in the group stage.

The result leaves the hosts in a strong position ahead of the return fixture in front of their home supporters. Al Ahly Tripoli would still qualify if they lost by three goals, while a victory or draw would confirm their superiority across the two matches.

Welwalo Adigrat face the task of overturning a four-goal deficit if they are to keep their continental campaign alive. The Ethiopian side will need to improve significantly in attack, while also preventing Al Ahly Tripoli from exploiting the spaces that helped them score four times in the opening encounter.

Al Ahly Tripoli’s priority will be to control the tie and protect their advantage without allowing their qualification hopes to come under threat.

Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 GMT, or 19:00 in Libya. The winner of the two-legged tie will progress to the next stage of the competition.
