Ajibade and Nnadozie headline Nigeria’s 28-player squad for LA 2028 qualifiers

Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has named a 28-player Super Falcons squad for next month’s Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifying tie against Comoros, with captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie among those selected.

The group also includes defenders Michelle Alozie and Oluwatosin Demehin, midfielders Christy Ucheibe and Jennifer Echegini, and forwards Gift Monday, Asisat Oshoala and Uchenna Kanu.

Young players Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Janet Akekoromowei have also been called up.

The squad has been instructed to report to the AM2PM Hotel, Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, 3rd October.

Comoros will host the first leg of the second-round tie on Friday, 9th October. Nigeria will stage the return on Tuesday, 13th October, with both matches taking place at Remo Stars Sports Stadium, Ikenne-Remo.

The second leg is being held in Nigeria because Comoros does not have a CAF-approved venue for international matches.

Nigeria will progress to the third round if they win the tie on aggregate. The qualifying competition consists of five fixtures and will conclude in December next year.
