Ilaix Moriba gets off the mark as Celta Vigo thrash Racing Santander

Ilaix Moriba scored his first goal of the season as Celta Vigo defeated Racing Santander 5-0 on Saturday in the seventh matchday of Liga.

The Guinea international started in midfield and struck shortly before half-time. Moriba converted a pass from Miguel Roman in the 43rd minute to put Celta Vigo 2-0 ahead and open his scoring account for the 2026/27 campaign.

The goal came as the 23-year-old continues his spell with the Spanish club. Moriba is under contract at Celta Vigo until June 2029, reflecting the club’s confidence in the midfielder.

His current market value is estimated at 15 million euros by Transfermarkt. After making his first contribution on the scoresheet this season, Moriba will now aim to build on the performance and establish himself more firmly in Celta Vigo’s midfield.
