Ikorodu City achieved massive feet in their first-ever NPFL Southwest derby on Sunday as they defeated Shooting Stars of Ibadan 2-1 at the Moolaji Johnson Arena Lagos,  Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

This result has elated the spirit of the captain of the team, Waliu Ojetoye, who praised his team’s performance in securing the hard-fought victory over rivals Shooting Stars.

The match, held on Sunday, extended Ikorodu City’s winning streak to three consecutive matches.

Despite going a goal down in the first half through Anthony Okachi’s opener for Shooting Stars, Ikorodu City mounted a comeback with Shola Adelani and Rivio Ayemwenre finding the net to seal the victory. Ojetoye expressed his gratitude to the fans, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout the match.

“Hi fans, thank you for the support in the victory over Shooting Stars,” Ojetoye said in a statement to the club’s media. “We told you we are not under any form of pressure from anywhere; we are here to win, and we want to continue doing that.”
