Iheanacho battles Rashford and others for player of the month
Leicester city forward Kelechi Iheanacho alongside five other premier league players have been shortlisted for the February EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Nigeria international in the month of February was involved in five league games for the Foxes contributing 2 goals and 3 assists.
His five goal involvements came in a devastating two-match spell. He got a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win at Aston Villa and followed that up with a goal and an assist in Leicester City’s impressive 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Iheanacho in winning the award has a strong opposition in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford who similar number of games scored 5 goals but no assist.
Other nominees are Emerson Royal (TOT), Ollie Watkins (AVL),Manor Solomon and Bernd Leno, both of Fulham.
