Nigeria Super Falcons defender and former captain of the team, Onome Ebi has disclosed her desire to be part of the team that will be flying the Nigerian flag at the Olympics in Paris, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The 41-year-old said it would have been a dream come through to help the team qualify for the event and end her career at the event.

Ebi spoke on Instagram Live while she addressing critics age shaming and laying fault accusations on her involvement in the national team.

She disclosed she was going to be part of the team as Coach Waldrum had explained reasons why she would not be part of that list.

“The coach made me understand that he wants to focus on younger players for the Olympics and I respect his decision as the coach before the qualifiers.

“I would have loved to end it all with the honour of helping the team qualify and going for the Olympics which was my goal, but that wasn't in my power alone to make it happen and I would never beg to achieve that.” Onome wrote.

Ebi, who has 6 FIFA Women's World Cup under her belt has featured in the 2018 Beijing Olympics was not included in the squad list of Super Falcons players going to Paris released by Coach Randy Waldrum on Wednesday.
