Nigeria and Chelsea Legend, John Obi Mikel wants to be involved with the Super Eagles in the future, Nigeriasoccernet.com can report.

Mikel in an interview with CNN although said he doesn't want to become a coach but still wants to be part of those who will run the affairs of the men's senior national team in the future.

Darren Lewis, CNN's Senior Sports Analyst during the interview asked Mikel if he'd love to be involved with the Super Eagles in the future, maybe as a coach or in some other capacities, Mikel responding said:

"I would love to one day but do I want to be a manager, I don't think so because I don't want to be sacked, I hate getting sacked. I don't think I can handle that really well.

"In some capacity, in some way I would love to be involved again with the national team. I want to be someone who will try to fix the problems from the top if it means to be immediate between the players and FA to make sure things are run properly, we have the right people managing where, what we should do together to make sure that we succeed.

"Obviously, success doesn't really depend on the pitch, it starts from the top. So for me, I think that is where we should start from. Somebody like a mediator between the hierarchy and the players, because I know like you said I still maintain a huge respect from the players, from the fans as well so that's something I would love to do in the future," he said.

John Obi Mikel had 91 caps for the Nigeria between 2005 and 2019, winning 5 trophies wearing the green white and green jersey.
