Hugo Magnetti extends Brest contract until 2029

Hugo Magnetti has committed his future to Stade Brestois 29 by signing a contract extension that will keep him at the Ligue 1 club until 2029.

The 28-year-old midfielder announced the agreement before Brest’s league meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

Magnetti began his football education with the youth teams of Olympique de Marseille, Burel and SC Bastia. He joined Brest in 2017 and initially played for the club’s reserve side.

A year later, he established himself in the first team and has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for Brest. During that time, he has scored six goals and supplied seven assists.

Magnetti is now the club’s vice-captain and played an important part in Brest’s Champions League campaign two seasons ago.

He started 31 of his 33 Ligue 1 matches last season, scoring once and creating two goals. The midfielder has started two of Brest’s three games so far this term.
