History: Nnadozie becomes the first African to win UNFP Best Goalkeeper Award
Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie has secured her place in the annals of football history, emerging as the inaugural African, and notably Nigerian, recipient of the prestigious National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) award, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Nnadozie regarded the most rated goalkeeper of the year clinched the UNFP award for best goalkeeper in the French women’s league.
Her exceptional performances for Paris FC throughout the 2023/24 season earned her this distinguished recognition.

Nnadozie's outstanding skills between the posts propelled her ahead of formidable contenders, including Olympique Lyon's Christiane Endler, Paris SG's Katarzyna Kiedrzynek, FC Fleury's Chloe N’Gazi, and Kinga Szemik of Stade de Reims, to clinch this individual accolade.
Notably, the 23-year-old goalkeeper also recently claimed the title of the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema, further solidifying her dominance in the women's league.
Nnadozie's prowess in saving penalties, in particular, has elevated her to the status of one of the finest goalkeepers on the global stage.
Her remarkable feat of saving seven penalties this season stands as the highest tally achieved by any goalkeeper in Europe, underscoring her exceptional talent and resilience under pressure. The Nigeria international also make the UNFP first eleven.
