Owner John W Henry has claimed that Liverpool could focus mainly on ending their Premier League title wait in the 2019-20 season.

The Reds enjoyed a successful past campaign as they clinched a sixth European title when defeating Tottenham 2-0 in the Champions League final in Madrid on 1st June.

The victory came on the back of an impressive domestic season when they finished with a staggering 97 points in the league, but lost out to Manchester City for the title.

To me winning in Europe is bigger than winning in England but I think it is true the fans want it.

John W Henry

The wait for a first title since 1990 will go into a 30th year next term and Henry has suggested that claiming a first Premier League crown will be the priority for Jurgen Klopp and his players.

"To me winning in Europe is bigger than winning in England but I think it is true the fans want it," he said. "I know we are going to be focused on winning the Premier League next year."

Henry revealed that money will be made available to Klopp for new signings, while he is hopeful that some of the current squad will be fully fit and make an impact.

He added: "We need Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back. We need a healthy (Adam) Lallana. It is not up to me but I would guess we will see more of Divock Origi next year. I feel really good about next year."

Liverpool are 9/4 to win the Premier League next season, while they are priced at 7/1 to retain the Champions League.
