Helander aiming for silverware
Swedish centre-back Filip Helander is eager to help Rangers challenge for silverware next season, having joined the Ibrox club on a four-year contract.
The 26-year-old, who has won ten senior caps for his country, has played for the last four years in Serie A in Italy, spending one season with Hellas Verona and the following three at Bologna.
I've come here to battle for every point and to win trophies.
Filip Helander
He racked up 60 league appearances with Bologna before leaving to head to Glasgow, with Helander determined to make his mark with the Gers.
He told his new club's official website: "I am delighted to be joining Rangers. The opportunity to work with a manager like Steven Gerrard was an easy decision to make.
"I've come here to battle for every point and to win trophies and I'm looking forward to meeting my team-mates and getting started."
Helander started his career in his homeland with Malmo, where he won two Swedish league titles, while latterly he was a member of the Sweden squad for the World Cup final in Russia in the summer of 2018.
He is the eighth signing made by boss Gerrard so far this summer, with Jake Hastie, Jordan Jones, Steven Davis, Greg Stewart, George Edmundson and Joe Aribo snapped up on permanent deals - while Sheyi Ojo has been recruited on loan from Liverpool.
Rangers are 9/4 to win the Scottish Premiership title next season, with Celtic available at 1/3.
