Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis admits Lewis Wing could miss Tuesday's FA Cup fourth-round replay at Newport County.

The 23-year-old is struggling with a groin problem and may be rested for the trip to South Wales in an attempt to be fully-fit for the crunch weekend Championship clash with Leeds United.

"We've got one or two little knocks," Pulis said. "Lewis has been playing with a little bit of a tight groin the past few games. Whether or not it's enough to see hm out I don't know.

"It's unfortunate that the FA Cup is placed in between so many important games but that's the way the fixtures go now.

"For me it's still the greatest cup competition in the world - and the game is there so we've got to go out and win.

"We know it's going to be tough. The team we put out will be ready for that."

Boro, 2/1 to be promoted this season, can be backed at 4/9 to beat Newport at Rodney Parade and qualify for the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Pulis' side are fifth in the Championship after winning a thrilling clash against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday 3-2.

A brace by Britt Assombalonga proved crucial as Pulis secured victory on his first return to the club who sacked him in November 2017.
