The Ghana Football Association has temporarily banned Accra Hearts of Oak from using the Accra Stadium as its home venue with immediate effect.

The decision was taken due to the unfortunate incident when supporters of Hearts of Oak threw objects at the Match Officials during the Match day 21 game against Sekondi Hasaacas at the Accra Stadium on July 5.

The incident resulted in an injury to assistant referee 2 Badiu Issaka.

The decision is in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations which states that “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed”.

The Premier League Board (PLB)will therefore determine the venue for the Club’s subsequent home matches in accordance with the provision of Article 15(3) of the GFA egulations.

The Disciplinary Committee has been charged to hear the case in accordance with the regulations of the association.

The decision is however without prejudice to a determination of the case by the Disciplinary Committee.
