Heartland FC, has begun an intensive preparation for the upcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) season, following their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last term, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Owerri-based club commenced their build-up with an open screening for relatively unknown players on Monday, under the guidance of seasoned coaches.

The selected players will join retained and invited players for the second phase of the team's preparation, as they aim to bounce back to the top flight.

The open screening, currently taking place at the Dan Anyiam Stadium practice pitch in Owerri, will conclude on Saturday.

The Naze Millionaires is seeking to rebuild and strengthen their squad for a promotion push in the new season.
