Heartland Queens’ goalkeeper, Uchechi Onyechere is upbeat of her team's chances on Wednesday when the knock horns former champions, Rivers Angels at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Oweri.

The goalkeeper, Onyechere promised to be at her best making sure that her opponents do not score as she intends to keep cleans sheets going forward.

“I’m going to jealously guide my territory to ensure no shot from the opponents enters into my own net.

“I need 100% clean sheet in all matches going forward, I want to be counting my clean sheets match after match until I reach the 12 games.

She disclosed that her goal is achieved a total haul of eight to nine clean sheets before the end of the season.

“I have already counted one clean sheet against reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens and tomorrow (Wednesday) I’m going to count clean sheet number two, three and on and on because the target is eight, nine clean sheets.

“I need the clean sheets badly in order to further boost my record of emerging the best safe hands at the end of league season.

“I’m excited this fixture is coming at this time of the season as I have been waiting patiently for the clash.

She believes they will take the day especially as the match will be played at their home as a loss will be detrimental to their campaign.

“I believe we are going to win convincingly notwithstanding the opponents’ profile as several champions.

“We are Heartland Queens and the clash is happening at our home ground and we will claim the three points at stake.

“It would be doom for us to drop points at home and we want to join the ranks of teams with wins in the league.

“We showed class in the last match in 2022 against the giants, champions and Africa’s third best, Bayelsa Queens, we are more than ever determined to continue the giant stride against Rivers Angels,” said the Nigerian cadet team invitee.

Heartland Queens are at the foot of Group A on paltry one point against visitors’ fourth place on six points with the same number of three matches.
