Guinea return to Conakry seeking first CAN 2027 qualifying win against Kenya

Guinea will host Kenya on Thursday, 1 October 2026, in the second round of the CAN 2027 qualifiers, with the Syli National looking to recover from their opening defeat.

The match will kick off at 16:00 GMT at the Stade du 28-Septembre in Conakry. In Guinea, it will be shown on RTG, the national broadcaster, and Canal+ Sport 1 Afrique.

Kenyan viewers can watch on SuperSport via DStv and GOtv, with Azam TV and KBC also possibly showing the game. Canal+ Sport 1 Afrique will broadcast the match in French-speaking Africa, while SuperSport and SABC will provide coverage in South Africa. The fixture will also be available on beIN Sports in the MENA region and France.

The teams have also scored eight goals apiece across those encounters. Their most recent meeting took place on 12 October 2008, when Guinea secured a 3-2 victory.

Guinea go into this latest fixture under pressure after losing 2-1 to South Africa in their opening qualifier. The Syli National have produced inconsistent results recently, but will hope that returning to Conakry can help them improve defensively and revive their campaign.

Kenya arrive in more encouraging form under manager Benni McCarthy. The Harambee Stars began their qualifying campaign with a 0-0 draw against Eritrea and have shown a strong tactical discipline that has made them difficult to overcome.

Guinea favoured to edge close contest
