Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is reported to be "recovering well" and he is also working off the sticks, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigeria international was forced to leave the pitch in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win against Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium despite scoring the winner.

The 25 year-old forward since then has been on crutches for two month.

The Tricky Tree manager, Steve Cooper however, says Taiwo Awoniyi is recovering well from his groin injury.

“Taiwo Awoniyi is progressing well, he works on the grass and comes back running. He’s not with the team yet and isn’t kicking any balls but he’s making progress which is good for him,” Cooper told reporters.

The striker has scored four goals in 16 league appearances for the Reds this season.
