Goal against Bendel Insurance excites Tekena Garando
Bayelsa United midfielder, Tekena Garando has expressed delight over scoring one of the goals in his side's crucial win over Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League on Monday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Garando opened score for the Prosperity Boys as they defeated Bendel Insurance 2-0 in the South-South derby encounter played at the Samson Siasia Stadium.
His second goal of the season was scored in the 18th minute of the game after the former Abia Warriors after heading a corner kick from Oginni Olatunbosun before Ofem Emmanuel sealed the win one minute after additional time with an header courtesy of a cross from Israel Consul.
Garando opened up to Nigeriasoccernet.com after the match stating that the atmosphere after the win which came after 5 matches was like they won the league.
Asked of how he felt after scoring, he said "felt really good. I was really excited, most especially for our fans.
On what the win meant after Bayelsa United had struggled for a while, he said "the atmosphere was outstanding after the win, just felt like we won the league.
"Hopefully we can continue in this form and move up the table" He concluded.
Bayelsa United travel to Gombe United for their next NPFL match in 5 days time and Garando is expected to continue his fine form.
