Gian Piero Gasperini surprised by Donyell Malen’s scoring form at Roma

Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini says Donyell Malen’s goalscoring record has exceeded his expectations since the Netherlands international joined the club last winter.

Malen made an immediate impact in the Italian capital, scoring regularly for the Serie A side after moving from English club Aston Villa.

“I did not think Malen would be this prolific,” Gasperini said, describing the forward’s effectiveness as a pleasant surprise.
