Ghanaian striker Patrick Twumasi scores as Kazakh side Astana open title defence with win

Ghanaian striker Patrick Twumasi scored on the opening day of the Kazakh Premier League in Astana’s 2-0 win over Okzhetpes at home on Saturday.

Robert Canas opened the scoring on 37 minutes for the defending champions before Twumasi added the second.

He collected a pass from the edge of the box and curled into the top corner to make it 2-0.

Twumasi won the top scorer prize with ten goals last season.
