Ghana U20 coach Sellas Tetteh laments poor conversion rate against Nigeria
Ghana U20 coach Sellas Tetteh has lamented his side’s profligacy in the 2-0 semi-final defeat to Nigeria at the African Youth Championship.
The Black Satellites created a lot of scoring opportunities and dictated the pace of the game but lacked the cutting edge.
Talented midfielder Yaw Yeboah and Prosper Kassim had chances but fluffed their lines as the Flying Eagles scored in either half of the match.
Tetteh said in a post-match interview said: "I'm highly disappointed that we played all the good football but couldn't utilize the chances created.
"I believe we are on course and this is a preparatory ground for the WC so we will try hard there and do something better."
Ghana were seeking a fourth African youth title after losing out on penalties to Egypt at the last edition in Algeria two years ago.
The Black Satellites have already qualified for the 2015 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand this May.

We should all accept the defeat and also accept the fact that this team is not good.A lot of the guys lack quality and should be replaced otherwise forget about the world cup.

The nigerians have a good team . They beat us fear and clear .Ghana is not the only soccer nation in africa. Soccer is of age. It is about time we went back to the drawing board ,and rewrite what went wrong rather than pointing fingers . Ariooosss!!!!.

Nigeria was just better. The team needs a European or North American raised striker who has a better finishing rate. The dribbling is good on this team but the final shots are always off.

I'm not a Ghanian but it will be unfair to say that d satalites are a horrible team. they did well its just dat flying eagles were tactically superior if not I'm surprised wit how they matched us man to man. kudos to Ghana they did dis best and I can assure u dat dey will do Africa proud. Despite d fact dat I don't like Ghana bcos of dis rough rugby football I still can't take it away from them dat they are a great soccer nation. One of d best in Africa. Both senior junior male and female teams are wonderfully.
