Ghana turn to Coventry striker Thomas-Asante after Adu withdrawal

Brandon Thomas-Asante has been added to Ghana’s squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after Prince Kwabena Adu was ruled out with a physical problem.

The Coventry City forward was not included in Carlos Queiroz’s initial selection but has been called up to replace Viktoria Plzen striker Adu. Thomas-Asante has made five appearances since the start of the season, including one start.

He will join the Black Stars for the opening two rounds of qualifying, beginning with a meeting against Cote d’Ivoire in Bouake.
