Ghana will play Nigeria or hosts Senegal in the semi-final of the African Youth Championship after the latter sealed their place in the last four of the competition following Saturday's final Group A matches.

The Black Satellites has already sealed their place in the last four thanks to their two previous Group B wins over South Africa and Zambia and were awaiting results from the match in Group A to confirm their places in the semis.

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles held their eternal rivals, the Junior Elephants of Cote d’ Ivoire to a 2-2 draw at the Caroline Faye Stadium, yesterday to confirm top spot in Group A.

Nigeria won the group with seven points from three games while the hosts Senegal finished second courtesy of a late rally that gave them a 4-3 win over Congo.

Their victory thus sent the Ivorians out.

Both Nigeria and Senegal go through to the semi finals.

The Nigerian lads started on a solid note with attempts to break into the Ivorians back line but it was the Junior Elephants that grabbed the opening goal against run of play.

Ghana is chasing a fourth continental glory at the continental gathering of eight teams.

The Satellites have already booked their place among the first three to represent the continent at the next FIFA World Youth Championship in New Zealand in May.

Ghana and Mali, both tied on six points will seek a results to determine who tops the group on Sunday.
