Striker David Accam wants to give the Chicago Fire fans something to cheer about when they host Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday.

The 24-year-old missed the season’s opening defeat to champions LA Galaxy last weekend due to a minor injury but is expected to make his debut in Saturday’s home game.

Accam only joined Chicago earlier this year from Helsingborg where he enjoyed massive success in the Swedish top flight.

The Ghana international is now looking for a fresh challenge in the MLS and is hoping to start with a big bang on Saturday.

"You want to play well in your home games," Accam said.

"That being our first home game of the season, you want to give the fans something to cheer about and something to look forward to with the season.

“Obviously it's a big game but I think we will do really well and we will give the fans something to cheer about."
